Solo travel puts you completely in charge of where you go, what you do, when you eat and how fast you move.
That freedom can feel a little daunting at first, but Colorado Springs has a way of making it easy. Whether you're here to recharge in the quiet of the mountains, explore at your own pace or find your people at local hangouts and community spots, this itinerary is built around you.
When it comes to lodging on your solo trip, Colorado Springs has options to match whatever kind of trip you’re after. Looking for a social, budget-friendly option? Try RAD Hostel, where you’ll be invited on group excursions and are sure to make new friends. If you’re after a more boutique experience, try one of Kinship Landing’s suites where every detail feels thoughtful. If you're feeling extra adventurous, check out their camping deck where the night sky will be your ceiling. Want somewhere comfortable and convenient? Stay at the Springhill Suites for their complimentary, hot breakfasts and easy access to the Tejon Corridor. Plus, there’s nothing easier than taking the elevator up to the 8th floor to grab a glass of wine and watch the sunset at Lumen8 Rooftop Social – the views are worth checking out even if you aren’t staying on-site.

When it comes to food, our recommendations are merely suggestions. After all, this trip is about you. With that said, we know a spot or two. For great coffee shops where you can read a book or get some work done, check out The Exchange and Loyal Coffee, both conveniently located in Downtown Colorado Springs.
Looking to maximize your options for lunch or dinner? C.O.A.T.I. and Ivywild are both packed with different food and drink options, making them great spots to hang out and try multiple cuisines. While you're at Ivywild, don't leave without stopping into Gold Star Bakery for a slice of pie.

AM: Explore Downtown COS and OCC via PikeRide
PM: Hang out at Poor Richard’s and shop Downtown
PM: Treat yourself to a facial with Jang Skincare
Ready to get rolling? Rent an e-bike with PikeRide for the day. The local rideshare program has over 90 stations throughout Colorado Springs, Old Colorado City and Manitou Springs, making it the perfect way to familiarize yourself with the area and explore without having to drive. Head to Old Colorado City via the paved Midland Trail and wander as you please. This historic district is home to numerous art galleries, cafés and shops, so there’s lots to check out.
After OCC, pedal your way back downtown for some afternoon fun. If shopping is your vibe, stop by Yobel for sustainable clothing options and Vintage Relics if antique finds are more your speed. If you’re all pedaled out, check out Poor Richard’s, a one-stop spot where you can shop for books and trinkets, grab a coffee and a bite to eat and relax on the patio while you read your new book (or just people watch—we don’t judge).
In the late afternoon, get a facial at Jang Skincare, tailored to your skin’s individual needs. The signature Bespoke Facial is a favorite, complete with exfoliation, extractions and a peel. Book well in advance, as the schedule books up quickly!
AM: Hike or bike in Red Rock Canyon Open Space
PM: Explore Manitou Springs via mineral springs tasting tour
Looking to get away from some of the crowds? Hit the trails in Red Rock Canyon Open Space. The park is a great, less trafficked alternative to Garden of the Gods and offers an off-leash dog park, mountain bike skills area, trails of varying difficulty and some neat red rock formations worth checking out.
Head over to nearby Manitou Springs for the afternoon and enjoy the unique shops and relaxed vibes of this quirky mountain town. If you’re looking for a little structure to your choose-your-own-adventure of an afternoon, take a free, self-guided tasting tour of the mineral springs throughout town. Stop by Visit Manitou Springs or the Manitou Springs Heritage Museum to pick up a map and purchase a tasting cup, then get walking. There are lots of tempting stores, restaurants and activities (check out the Penny Arcade!) for detours along the way. We’ll leave the decision-making up to you.
AM: Hike in North Cheyenne Cañon Park
PM: Go on a Rocky Mountain Food Tour
In the morning, head to North Cheyenne Cañon Park and conquer one of our favorite hikes to do solo! Seven Bridges Trail, Mt. Cutler and the Columbine Trail all offer great views and are frequented enough that you’ll be in good company while in the park.
We hope you’ve worked up an appetite on your hike because this afternoon is all about food. Sign up for a Rocky Mountain Food Tour of your choice and enjoy a perfectly curated list of some of the best food and drinks around the area. It’s a great choice if you don’t like making tough decisions, plus it helps that you’ll be in good company with your tour guide and fellow food adventurers.
AM: Chill with the homies (cats) at Comfort & Joy Cat Café
PM: Art on the Streets self-guided tour
PM: Sound bath with Singing Bowls of the Rockies
Kick off day four at Comfort & Joy Cat Café. Make sure to book a reservation in advance! Enjoy coffee or tea while you relax with some feline friends. You might be traveling solo, but they’re sure to keep you company and give you the purrfect start to your day (too many cat puns? We think not). While the cat café offers some local pastries for purchase, if you’ve worked up a bit of a bigger appetite, Homa Café at Kinship Landing is nearby and has beautiful greenhouse seating with plenty of healthy and tasty options for breakfast and lunch – your choice, of course!
In the afternoon, take a self-guided Art on the Streets tour. You can even download an app so you can learn the backstories of the various murals and sculptures you see along the way.
To round out the end of your solo trip, take some you-time and experience the soothing vibrations of a sound bath with Singing Bowls of the Rockies. Make sure to check out the offerings ahead of time – though any of them are sure to provide a reflective and uplifting end to your Colorado Springs visit.
