Film production is a thriving industry in Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak region. Recent projects include Our Souls at Night (starring Robert Redford & Jane Fonda) and Cop Car (starring Kevin Bacon). The Pikes Peak region has a year-round mild climate and all four seasons. The BlueCat Screenplay Competition, now in its 20th year, is accepting submissions for its 2018 competition.Founded by award winning writer/director Gordy Hoffman in 1998, the BlueCat Screenplay Competition’s passionate commitment to develop and discover the unknown screenwriter continues to define our work today, becoming one of the largest and most prestigious screenplay competitions in the world.

Amy Long has been with the CVB since June of 2006. She oversees advertising, publications, the website, communications, partnership and events. She has a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of North Carolina. Amy volunteers as Board Chair for Keep Colorado Springs Beautiful and as part of the clean-up crew for Bear Creek Dog Park. Her Aussie, Dodger, is never far from her side, and he is featured in the main article of the 2017 Vacation Planner.

Chelsy is a Colorado Springs native and holds a Communications degree from UCCS. She joined the CVB in 2008 and directs all activities of the Communications department, including PR, advocacy, media relations, crisis communications, travel writer trips, social media and photo/video asset management. She enjoys fashion, traveling and her two labs, Gunner and Champ.

Bonnie joined the CVB in the summer of 2017 with a background in corporate communications and PR. She supports the marketing team with publications, ad sales, content creation, partner newsletters and website updates. Bonnie holds a BA in Mass Communications from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. On her free time, she can be found volunteering as a board member for the Friends of Cheyenne Cañon, hiking or hanging out with her 12-year-old American Eskimo, Bumble.
