Duration: 2-3.5 hours depending on pace
Trail Difficulty: Moderate
Elevation: 1,597 elevation gain
Recommended for: Hikers, Dogs allowed
Directions to the Trailhead:
Take the Nevada exit off I-25 in Colorado Springs. Go south on Nevada then turn west on Cheyenne Blvd. Follow Cheyenne Blvd west for almost 3 miles and turn right onto North Cheyenne Canon Road. Follow North Cheyenne Canon Road for 3.2 miles to the large parking lot just beyond the end of the paved road. The trailhead is on the north end of the parking lot. Follow the road and look for a small path on the right. This is the beginning of the trail and can be easily overlooked as it is not labeled.
The hike follows a creek in North Cheyenne Canon and is mostly shaded by the forest. Along the hike you will cross seven wooden bridges and end up in Jones Park, a meadow where you will find wildflowers in the spring. Dogs are allowed on the trail and they will enjoy splashing in the creek.
