With more than 40 years of experience as an executive with Marriott, public speaker, published author, professional development executive for Destination Marketing Association International and President & CEO of Visit Colorado Springs, Doug Price has a unique and broad perspective on travel and tourism marketing, sales, customer service and advocacy.
Chief Financial Officer
Jim Cassidy started with VCOS in 2005. He previously worked at Kings Deer Golf Course and for Indiana State Parks. As the CFO, he is responsible for directing VCOS's assets, budget process, annual audit and accounting activities. He is instrumental in strategic planning and also manages IT and HR. When not working, Jim enjoys travel, sporting events and a good round of golf.
April Perez joined VCOS in January, 2020 as Account Clerk. She assists the CFO with financial management and helps maintain VCOS financial and operational efficiency. When she isn't at work, you can find her practicing yoga, cooking and hanging out with her family and exploring exciting places in Colorado.
Gaby Stephenson, CAP, OM, PM
Gaby joined VCOS in 2009. She manages the VCOS office and assists the President/CEO and CFO with a variety of accounting, scheduling and administrative tasks that keep VCOS running like a well-oiled machine. Through IAAP, she engages with peers through networking and educational events. Gaby is often seen on area hiking trails with her rescue pups, Sadie and Kobe. She also enjoys crafting and reading.
Pam Sherfesee, CDME
Vice President of Sales
Pam joined VCOS in 1994 and oversees the sales team. She works with associations headquartered in states east of the Mississippi River, handles conventions and works with associates of HelmsBriscoe. Pam enjoys gardening, skeet shooting and spending time with her husband.
Senior Director of Convention Sales
Kathy joined VCOS in 1997. She handles meetings and conventions for religious and corporate markets as well as associations in Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Texas and Wisconsin and works with associates of ConferenceDirect. Kathy enjoys bowling, designing greeting cards, golfing and spending time with her husband and her dog, Reilly
Cheryl McCullough, CSEE
Director of Sports & Special Events
Cheryl joined VCOS in 1997. Cheryl's degree in sales & marketing, CVB experience and native roots in Colorado Springs provide her with a great background to assist sports event-rights holders, tournament directors & event organizers with their planning needs. She enjoys spending time with her family and 3 dogs, fishing, gardening & traveling
Director of Travel Industry Sales
After more than 25 years in the hospitality industry in Florida and Arizona, Floy began her career at VCOS in 2008. Floy is responsible for international tourism and the domestic motorcoach market. She loves taking her dog, Ozzy, on walks, gardening and spending time with friends.
Dina joined VCOS in 2017 with a background in business development, corporate account management and vendor relations. She holds a BS from the University of Central Florida. Dina’s markets include military reunions, education, fraternal, government, hobby groups and Colorado associations. Dina also works with special events and various third-party planners such as Experient, Maritz and HPN.
Sarah joined VCOS in 2016. She provides admin support for the Vice President of Sales and the Senior Director of Convention Sales. She holds a degree in Communication Studies from Christopher Newport University in Virginia. Sarah’s quirky hobbies include cleaning and organizing, karaoke and snuggling with her Westie terrier, Ringo.
Group Servicing Coordinator
Holly joined VCOS in January of 2019. Previously, she worked as an advertising administrator with Metso Minerals and comes from a background of event planning and vendor relations. Holly has lived in Colorado Springs for more than 40 years and is very familiar with the city and surrounding areas. She provides servicing to all group markets as well as assisting planners with reunions, day meetings, holiday parties, student and youth groups and weddings.
Chief Innovation Officer
Amy Long has been with VCOS since June of 2006. She oversees advertising, publications, the website, communications, partnership and events. She has a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia and an MBA from the University of North Carolina. Amy volunteers as Board Chair for Keep Colorado Springs Beautiful and as part of the clean-up crew for Bear Creek Dog Park. Her Aussie, Dodger, is never far from her side, and he is not too sure how he feels about his new bother, Vincent.
Alexea joined VCOS in February 2020 after spending five years at a public relations agency. She oversees VCOS’ internal and external communications, including media and influencer relationships, social media strategy and editorial content. Ask her about the next 14er on her hiking list or her adorable (but mischievous) golden retriever named Ranger.
Melissa, a Colorado Springs native, signed on with Visit Colorado Springs in 2015. She oversees the website development, content and performance and manages the various publications such as the Official Visitor Guide, Dining & Shopping Guide, Annual Report and Marketing Plan. She is a skilled graphic designer for both print and digital projects. Her dachshunds, Darla and Wilbur, are adorable and they know it.
Jane joined VCOS in January 2019 with a background in communication and social media. She supports the marketing team with newsletters, website updates, publications, ad sales, content creation and more. Jane has bachelor degrees in mass communication and journalism from Miami University. In her free time, you can find Jane sipping on a margarita, eating sushi, traveling or playing with her future dog that her boyfriend does not know about yet!
Partnership Development Director
Kim has worked with VCOS on three separate occasions and this time, we're not letting her go. She is immersed in the community, helping businesses connect with the 20.5 million people who visit the region each year. In addition to partnership sales and retention, Kim creates a full schedule of educational and networking events that include the Annual Business Meeting, Tourism Awards Celebration, quarterly mixers, partner orientation sessions and the educational series.
Partner Relations Manager
Denise began VCOS career as Partnership Coordinator in 2012 and transitioned to the position of Marketing Coordinator for several years. In 2017, she returned to the position of Partnership Coordinator and was promoted to Partner Relations Manager in 2018. She assists Partners with keeping their information current on the website and in publications. She also assists with Account Reviews, Partner Communications and VCOS events. Denise is an accomplished photographer, having been published and won several awards.
Director of Visitor Services
Christy started with VCOS in 2006, after working several years with the Durham, NC Chamber of Commerce. She manages the Visitor Information Center and oversees our nearly 40 amazing volunteers. She is responsible for distribution of the Official Visitor Guide to regional AAA offices and those who order the guide on VisitCOS.com and other websites. Her pet of choice is the bunny rabbit and she is skilled in a variety of crafts including cakes and elaborate greeting cards.
Doris started with VCOS as a volunteer in 1993 and as a part-time employee in 1997. She keeps the Visitor Information Center (VIC) stocked with Partner brochures and staffs the VIC on summer weekends. Doris is an avid historian, published author and actress. Her favorite recurring roles are portraying local historical celebs Helen Hunt and Katharine Lee Bates.
