June through August is peak summer season in Colorado Springs. June offers slightly lower crowds and strong wildflower displays in the high country. July and August are the busiest, particularly on weekends. Plan outdoor activities (especially Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods and the Manitou Incline) for early mornings to avoid afternoon thunderstorms and peak parking congestion.
Yes. Garden of the Gods is a free city park open year-round, including the Visitor and Nature Center. Guided tours, horseback rides and jeep tours offered by private operators within the park carry separate fees.
Plan on one to two hours each way, not including time at the summit or stops at overlooks. The full drive from base to summit is 19 miles on a paved road. A recommended minimum visit is three hours round trip.
Yes. A free timed-entry reservation is required from May through October. Reservations open 72 hours in advance and can be made through the official Manitou Incline reservation system. Walk-up access is not guaranteed during peak season.
