Traverse across dirt paths and the breathtaking alpine landscape. Take in the surrounding rocky terrain and aspen trees, embracing the outdoors of Colorado Springs in a heart-pumping way. Every year, cycling enthusiasts and advanced professionals come together to participate in the annual Pikes Peak APEX — a three-day mountain bike competition. Pedal your way through winding paths along the scenic inclines of the Pikes Peak mountain range. Participants will be able to choose single-day or multi-day events during this contest.

- Both days start and finish at Penrose House, 1661 Mesa Ave, Colorado Springs, CO
- The Pikes Peak APEX will be held over different courses in the Pikes Peak Region, including Cañon City and North Cheyenne Cañon.

Gravel Adventures
For those who love gravel riding, Queen of the Canyons is a must-try: a 135-mile epic through the stunning Gold Belt Tour Scenic Byway, offering rugged terrain and breathtaking landscapes. If you’re looking for something shorter but equally scenic, the Mini Majesty covers 65 miles round-trip along the historic Gold Camp Road, blending smooth rides with picturesque views.
Mountain Biking Challenges
Mountain bikers can test their skills on the Marathon, a 35-mile journey along North Cheyenne Canyon Road with gorgeous views and technical sections. For a more accessible but still rewarding ride, the Mini Marathon delivers a 16-mile single-track climb up Sweetwater Canyon, perfect for testing endurance while soaking in the natural beauty.

Awards & Prizes
The cash prize purse for the Pikes Peak APEX will consist of an overall total of $10,000 each day. Individual prizes will range from $250 to $2,500 for the top five riders. There will be Top Male and Top Female titles for each competition, as well as age group winners.
Gravel Fun Ride
Don't miss this non-competitive 25-mile ride, where you dip your toe in gravel! Bike along scenic Gold Camp Road and ride through two tunnels before returning for lunch and a beverage of your choice. No prizes, just a great time!
