The Colorado College music department and the Colorado Springs Conservatory are teaming up to present, “Anastasia.” The musical “Anastasia” tells the story of Anya, a young amnesiac woman who believes she might be the lost Grand Duchess Anastasia Nikolaevna of Russia. She joins forces with two con men, Dmitry and Vlad, who plan to present her to the Dowager Empress in Paris as a way to escape Russia and claim a reward. The musical explores themes of identity, family, and finding one’s place in the world amidst political turmoil. Don’t miss this exciting collaboration this December!

We’ll investigate old ways to celebrate this celestial event while creating new traditions. Our new tradition includes a luminary-candlelight night hike, ending at a warm campfire. Each family will work together to create a holiday wreath. Come dressed for the weather and prepared for outdoor activities. The presentation includes two different birds of prey and a discussion of adaptations, predator/prey relationships, natural history and personal stories of the birds presented. Join us for a blissful evening at Pikes Peak Ranch centered around creative expression, movement and connection! Please wear all white or light colors. We will paint ourselves with glow-in-the-dark body paint and have black lights to make our movement together creative and epic. BUTI movement is a somatic practice that combines yoga, cardi, and strength training with tribal dance and primal movements. Bring your yoga mat and get ready to move! “The Conversation Series: Stitching the Geopolitical Quilt to Re-Body Belonging” is an ever-evolving contemporary dance performance combining video technology, music, fashion and design. It is a performance project that aims to confront and celebrate heritage, resilience, justice and hope. This work is inspired by a walking practice where the choreographer, Helanius J. Wilkins, walked—up to 16 miles a day—to unlearn fear, particularly feat that separates many people from a true sense of belonging in their own community. As a collaborative, immersive performance by two men with different racial and cultural backgrounds, this project explores the value of bodies of different appearances and experiences coexisting. The performance will be followed by a Q & A with the choreographer.

Enjoy this 9-day event, where ice carvers will be working on creating their sculptures! Vendor booths and ice carving will take place every day (except Tuesday, February 18) including President’s Day for the duration of the festival. The vendor and activities will happen between 10:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. The head-to-head carving challenges will also be returning to the event on Saturdays at 12:00, 1:30 and 3:00 (Feb 15 and Feb 22). Carvers will compete in a stadium setting for a $1,000 cash prize each weekend on Bennett Ave. between 3rd St and 4th St. Carving teams will also be doing their best to win the People’s Choice Award for a huge cash prize. Plan your visit and cast your vote for the most impressive carving. This event is free and open to the general public! Dress warm and enjoy this incredible event.

The Broadmoor Winter Polo Classic brings winter polo to residents across the Pikes Peak Region at the Norris Penrose Event Center – brought to you by Los Hermanos Ranch and Colorado Springs Sports Corporation. The match will once again feature top polo players from around the country. The Broadmoor Winter Polo Classic will adhere to most of the standard, traditional polo regulations with the exception of the tournament taking place in a dirt arena instead of a grass field. Teams will be comprised of three players and play will consist of four 7-min chukkers (periods).
