AM: The Broadmoor Seven Falls
PM: Lunch at Restaurant 1858
PM: Wine tasting at Latigo Winery
PM: Entertainment and Dinner at the Flying W Ranch Chuckwagon Dinner Show
Start day one off with an adventure at The Broadmoor Seven Falls, open seasonally starting around mid-March! Enjoy the views of the falls and surrounding canyon. After you work up an appetite hiking and climbing the giant staircase, get lunch at Restaurant 1858 at the base of the falls – one of the most unique dining options in town! Weather-depending, you can dine in the main dining room or outside on the patio overlooking the cascades and canyon. The menu is inspired by Colorado’s early frontier days and includes elevated takes on green chili, Rocky Mountain trout, bison burgers and catfish po’boys. After lunch, head to Latigo Winery in Black Forest for wine tasting. This neighborhood winery is an actual hidden gem with small batch bottles that make for a fun tasting experience.
For the evening, head out to the Flying W Ranch for a classic Chuckwagon Dinner Show (seasonal from May through October, plus a Christmas Show). Flying W offers a unique Western experience that you will not find anywhere else. The cowboy-style barbecue dinner is where it all started! Back in the 1950s, Marian Wolfe used to cook a potluck-style dinner for people who were horseback riding on the property. The meals were so good, more and more people started showing up just to eat and listen to the Western tunes – thus, the Chuckwagon Dinner Show was born!
AM: Breakfast train with the Royal Gorge Route Railroad
PM: Dinner at Roth Sea & Steak
PM: Show at Ford Amphitheater
For day 2, head to the Royal Gorge Region for a breakfast ride aboard the Royal Gorge Route Railroad. Stunning morning views of the Royal Gorge, made-to-order breakfast and a bottomless cup of locally roasted coffee – what more could you ask for? The 403 Grill menu includes classics like breakfast burritos and biscuits with gravy. And don’t be shy to add on a mimosa or bloody Mary.
Later in the evening, dine at the newly established Roth Sea & Steak overlooking Ford Amphitheater! It’s quickly becoming known for its refined menu and culinary artistry. Plus, it’s a perfect spot to conveniently enjoy a show at the Ford Amphitheater afterward! Browse upcoming events ahead of time to get your tickets.
AM: Explore Downtown Colorado Springs
