Stranger Side of Victor & Spirits of Sunnyside Walking Tours - 1st and 3rd Saturdays, June-October 2023
Downtown Victor: Local historian, Alicia Petri, will lead a walking tour of downtown Victor, highlighting some of the stranger, little known history of the town – from the Labor wars to gunfights and shootouts and more. In addition, learn about the historic buildings that line the streets, and discover stories about some of the town’s citizens.
Sunnyside Cemetery: Local historian Alicia Petri will guide you through the cemetery telling stories of grave robbers, insurance fraud, and unusual characters.
Bark at Briargate - September 9, 16, 23, 30
The community is invited to enjoy complimentary evenings featuring pet adoptions focused on consciously pairing the right pet with the right owner, agility courses, charity dog washes and other pet-related business vendors. Various contests and demonstrations will be in full swing throughout the evening, creating a dog-friendly environment for families and their four-legged friends.
Concert at Royal Gorge Bridge & Park - September 16, 2022
The Royal Gorge Bridge & Park and the city of Cañon City proudly present a sesquicentennial celebration concert at the Elk Park Amphitheater. Join us on Friday, September 16th under a canopy of stars for the ultimate bluegrass experience as we welcome Grammy Award winning artist Béla Fleck. Special Guests: Frank Solivan and Dirty Kitchen.
Annual Powwow – September 17, 2022
We invite everyone to the Garden of the Gods Rock Ledge Ranch Powwow. Our powwow celebrates and honors Native American cultures and history through song, dance, and traditions. It is a gathering that brings people together to see old friends and make new ones. Before the grand entry of dancers, a storyteller and dance troupe will perform. Enjoy an Indian taco, or other delicious food, and explore the vendors who will sell an assortment of items, mostly homemade. This is a dog-free event.
Harvest Festival at The Winery at Holy Cross Abbey – September 24, 2022
Wine, artisans, food, and entertainment come together the last weekend of September at the annual Harvest Festival on the grounds at the Winery at Holy Cross Abbey.
Monument Oktoberfest with Pikes Peak Brewing - September 24, 2022
Join us for a day of Oktoberfest shenanigans, drinking games, pretzel making kits, costume contest & $30 for a souvenir stein & fest beer fill…with $4 fest beer refills all day! Harvest Festival at the McAllister House Museum – September 24, 2022
The McAllister House Museum will be hosting their 2nd Annual Harvest Festival on Saturday, September 24th from 10am to 2pm. Join us for a musical performance by the Wayne Wilkinson Trio, playing from 11am to 2pm. Tour the McAllister House, the oldest house in Colorado Springs. Enjoy games, arts and crafts for families, food and drink, antique cars, fun raffle prizes, and local arts and crafts vendors. Take part in community conversations with Executive Director Eric Metzger about gardening culture and architecture in early Colorado Springs and how the McAllister family led the effort to bring beauty and business to the high plains of Colorado.
Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival - September 24-October 9, 2022
Each fall the Colorado Springs Cool Science Festival features 16 days of fun, educational and engaging events for all ages showcasing Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Math (STEAM) throughout greater Colorado Springs, including the popular Cool Science Carnival Day for kids at UCCS.
Pikes Peak Regional Air Show – September 24-25, 2022
The Pikes Peak Regional Airshow supports three museums in Colorado Springs—The Ft. Carson 4th Infantry Museum, The Peterson Air and Space Museum and The National Museum of WWII Aviation. These unique institutions are dedicated to the education of future generations through the preservation of our nation’s military heritage.
Safe to Brave: Having Courageous Conversations with Children - September 26, 2022
Talking about topics like gender, race, sexual orientation, and class can raise anxiety for many people, and yet we must have the conversation in school and in our lives if we wish to be more inclusive and change the world for the better. What are the fears and common pitfalls that keep us from broaching courageous conversations with our children? On September 26, 2022, join The Colorado Springs School from 6-7:30 p.m. for a presentation titled "Safe to Brave: Courageous Conversations" during which Educator and Diversity Consultant Rosetta Eun Ryong Lee will share practical skills for responding to hurtful experiences and facilitating courageous conversations with our children.

Pikes Peak Litter Letter Project - September 30 - October 28, 2022
In celebration of Arts Month, the Pikes Peak Outdoor Recreation Alliance, Fountain Creek Watershed Flood Control and Greenway District, and Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region have joined forces to orchestrate the Pikes Peak Litter Letter Project. Each year, our local Litter Letter Project produces a unique piece of sculptural art that is constructed with trash collected from public lands and waterways during Creek Week. Local organizations, groups or teams "adopt" a letter to fill with the collected trash, that then spells out the word of the year for the art installation. This years word is PRICELESS! The Litter Letter Project is a wonderful cross-sector collaboration between the Arts, Outdoor Recreation, and Environmental sectors that benefits the entire region!

Pre K-Grade 12 Experiential Education Expo - October 15, 2022
Discover The Colorado Springs School (CSS) difference at our 2nd Annual Experiential Education Expo, where current and prospective families – Pre K through grade 12 – will participate in some of the same hands-on learning and team-building activities that have had a transformational impact on CSS students for 60 years. Stations will include but are not limited to a gold-panning area and lesson on the history of prospecting, a hands-on gardening demonstration, a course on rope-tying combined with hang time on a 24-foot climbing wall, and a meet and greet with birds of prey.
Home School Day at Rock Ledge Ranch – October 26, 2022
Homeschool families are invited to enter through the Admission Hut. Tours are self-guided to the educational historic sites. Admission is $4.00 each, children 3 and under are FREE. This School Program will cover the historic sites. Dress for the weather! Most of this program is outside with limited indoor space. Parent/guardian chaperones are required during the program. Our staff and volunteers are here to facilitate learning. Teachers/parent chaperones handle student behavior and model proper field trip etiquette. Picnic lunches are welcome. Picnic tables are available South of the Orchard House or by the pond. Trash and recycling receptacles are provided.

Everything But the Oink at Rock Ledge Ranch – November 12, 2022
To keep the meat from spoiling during the curing process, hogs were processed in the coolest, fall months of the year. Lard is rendered to cook, make soap, and medicines. Everyone participated in this annual event, so dress for the weather and join us at the Woodworking Shop for this educational demonstration. The Galloway Homestead will demonstrate soap making throughout the day, and you are welcome to tour the other historic site to witness sausage-making, cooking, and engage in other activities.

Join The Colorado Springs School on November 18 and/or November 19, 2022, at 7 p.m. in the Louisa Performing Arts Center for the Upper School production of "Puffs, or Seven Increasingly Eventful Years at a Certain School of Magic and Magic!" For seven years, a certain boy wizard went to a certain Wizard School and conquered evil. This, however, is not his story. This is the story of the Puffs....who just so happened to be there, too; a tale for anyone who has never been destined to save the world! Puffs is the story of Wayne Hopkins: a regular boy who finds out he's a wizard and goes to school in England, where he makes two best friends and has adventures.
