Sydney Wilkerson, a surrealist analog collage artist who uses vintage sixties and seventies National Geographic to create meticulous compositions with abstract themes. For me, surrealism is arranging ethereal scenes portraying inner healing and releasing the subconscious mind. In arranging my collages, the goal is shaping symmetrical, mystical scenes that guide you through these subconscious stories. Through stream of consciousness writing, I use beat poetry to further evoke imagery and emotion. My art explores themes of awareness, release of the past, and moving forward. This exhibit symbolizes the release. Turn on, tune in.
