Event Summary
Since 1916 when Spencer Penrose created the Pikes Peak National Hill Climb Contest, competitors have been invited to bring their best to challenge the mountain. The second oldest race in America has become the most iconic hill climb in the world.
Competitors, fans and media from around the globe travel to Colorado Springs to catch the action.
The current course record of seven minutes, 57.148 seconds was set in 2018 by Romain Dumas in an all-electric Volkswagen I.D. R. Racers in six divisions vie for the top honor, King of the Mountain.
