Palmer Lake .5K, “The Race for the Rest of Us”!

It's that time again!! Time for the Palmer Lake .5K, “The Race for the Rest of Us”!

Walk, run, skip, or crawl, it is still a whopping 500 meters in the picturesque setting of Palmer Lake. As usual, we encourage, and perhaps reward, kooky and fun (and family friendly) costumes and get ups. Dogs are welcome, but only good dogs (we’ve seen a few cats over the years too, we don’t discriminate), and you can sign them up to receive a one-of-a-kind bandana, and maybe even a treat!

Mark your calendars and don’t miss this one, as it is our 10th year “running” extravaganza, and this year promises to be bigger and better than ever.

We will have great tunes at the start line from Sunny FM, and the fun continues at O’Malley’s after the race with a DJ and dancing. Vintage (and not-so-vintage) t-shirts will be available for purchase, and as always, the proceeds all go a worthy cause, helping Awake Palmer Lake fund improvements to Palmer Lake and the park that surrounds it – just check out the nearly completed Palmer Lake Pickleball Courts and public restrooms while you grind your way through 50,000 centimeters of grueling competition. And don’t worry, as always, we’ll provide a carb-loading donut in the middle to help you make it to the finish where that cold beverage awaits! Don’t forget to check out all our sponsors at the finish line, they help make this silly fun possible!

As usual, the Palmer Lake .5K (yes, “point”) packs as much fun as humanly possible into less than an hour on the course, followed by more fun at O’Malley’s.
