'MINMAX'

Cottonwood Center for the Arts is proud to present a juried exhibition for the month of March, composed of artists from across the Pikes Peak region and beyond. MINMAX will pit Cottonwood’s two main galleries against each other, asking artists for their thoughtful representation of either Minimalism or Maximalism in response to the works of two artists.

Art movements have often evolved as a reply to another. We have asked artists to reflect on the birth of the Maximalist movement in response to Minimalism, and the resulting philosophical divide in the arts. For inspiration, we asked artists to respond/reply to the works of two different artists for this call, minimalist Nasreen Mohamedi and contemporary maximalist Elias Sime.

Enjoy two floors of open studios + galleries on First Friday and all month long during normal business hours at Cottonwood Center for the Arts.
