Girl Dinner, starting as a viral internet craze around how girls eat when no one is around, has since led the artist on a material investigation of the nuances of femininity as a thing defined by hunger. The way women and femme folks have kept their plates empty to take up less space at the table is an age-old tale. This story transpires as a larger conversation about traditions, gender roles and commodification.
