Join us for a delicious and educational experience at our upcoming Campfire / Cast Iron Cooking class. In this class we will go beyond the typical campfire cooking of hotdogs and smores by teaching students everything necessary to feel comfortable cooking gourmet meals over the open fire. Topics include wood selection for both general cooking and smoking flavors, toxic wood to avoid, seasoning cast iron cookware, fire and coal maintenance, tools and utensils needed to safely handle cookware, baking, frying and stewing techniques.
The class will encompass some caveman cooking techniques as well as meals prepared using backpacking stoves. Students will take part in hands-on cooking and will help prep and cook two full days worth of meals including Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner, Desserts and Snacks.
