Admission: Planning to drive yourself to the summit for sunrise? Be sure to purchase a $2 timed-entry permit for the specific sunrise opening you plan to attend, along with your admission tickets: $18 per adult, $8 per child, $65 for a carload (up to 5 passengers). All tickets must be purchased in advance online. The Gateway will open early—between 4:30 am and 5:30 am—based on the sunrise opening date you select. Prefer to take the Pikes Peak shuttle? Reserve your shuttle tickets online before your visit: $35 per adult and $10 per child (ages 6–15). Children 5 and under ride free. All Pikes Peak shuttle buses are ADA accessible. Please note: Sunrise shuttles will depart from The North Pole Santa's Workshop (located .3 miles before the Pikes Peak Entrance). Sunrise shuttles travel directly to the Summit and return without stops. They will not pause at other points along the way.

Event Summary

Don’t miss a chance to experience one of nature’s most breathtaking moments — sunrise from the Summit of Pikes Peak! Happening July 12, July 18, Aug. 1, Sept. 27, and Oct. 13!

Important Information: Advance purchase required: A timed entry permit (per vehicle) and admission fees must be secured online in advance. North Slope Recreation Area will not be accessible during this event.

New This Year! For those looking to enjoy the Summit views without the drive, shuttle services for our sunrise openings are now available! Departing from The North Pole-Santa's Workshop parking lot (located .3 miles before the Pikes Peak entrance), the shuttle will take passengers straight to the top to catch the break of day! When purchasing shuttle tickets for the event, be sure to select July 12, July 18, Aug. 1., Sept. 27, or Oct. 13 and choose the earliest available shuttle time.

This unique event is only held a few times each year — a rare opportunity you won’t want to miss.
