Event Summary
Henry McAllister formerly of the U.S. Army came to Colorado to work with General Palmer in establishing a new community. He and his family took a leading role in the experimentation with apples, grapes and strawberries right on their grounds on Cascade Street. They started as soon as they moved here and gathered data for 10 years. Their work is included in the publication “Fruit Culture in Colorado” by William Pabor.
