Join us for the August First Friday ArtWalk at 45º featuring glass artist Danielle Park and painter Michelle Lopez!
Danielle Park - Each piece of blown glass by Colorado artist Danielle Park is a celebration of craftsmanship, color, and light. Hand-formed using traditional glassblowing techniques, her vases, bowls, and sculptural works highlight the natural beauty of molten glass shaped into timeless designs.
"AutumnWeen, the transition of seasons. Cooler weather moves in as we celebrate the bounty of our harvests. My collection as the First Friday Artist of October will greatly reflect on this. I will be bringing a glassy harvest full of pumpkins, peppers, gourds amongst some new giftware as we approach the holiday season. I will be bringing the spooky season vibes as well.
Michelle Lopez - Whether capturing the whimsy of illustrative animals or conceptual paintings that explore themes of symbolism, Michelle Lopez's work draws you in with thoughtful imagination. Her works add both color and conversation to any art collection.
Up Close With Nature
"This collection explores the intricate and natural shapes found in the animal kingdom. These paintings use different angles, close-ups, and pathworked perspectives to show the vibrant textures of insects, reptiles, fish, and birds. By zooming in on scales, feathers, and fine details, I capture entirely new environments. I shift away from traditional portraiture to focus on pure form, color, and line. The results are vivid, abstracted landscapes taken from the anatomy of these creatures.
Delicate pen and ink drawings on the sides of the wood panels offer a final reference to the original creature once the main artwork has been seen."

It will be an eclectic mix of old ideas blended with new ideas. I will also be taking a step back to my roots in fused glass. For the October First Friday, I will be showcasing fused glass that I have never shown before and a new line of organically blown vessels. The organically blown vessels are a tribute to the beautiful state of Colorado. All of the rock bases have been found on my property or purchased from local prospectors. Not only are they beautiful but they are functional and affordable."
