The Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival is an action-packed weekend in Cañon City, Colorado.
The 17th Annual Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival (RGWF) features kayak, stand-up paddleboard, raft and river board competitions along with land-based events to promote the outdoors and an active lifestyle.
CANCELLED FOR 2026
The organizing partners of the Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival have made the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival, originally scheduled for July 17–18. The decision comes in response to the ongoing Aspen Acres Wildfire and the extraordinary demands it has placed on emergency personnel, public agencies, volunteers, and community resources throughout Fremont County.
Although the 2026 festival will not take place, organizers remain committed to the long-term future of the Royal Gorge Whitewater Festival and look forward to welcoming visitors back in July 2027 under safer and more favorable circumstances.
