Colorado Springs - Olympic City USA

The attraction and event venue draws 120,000 during Olympic years and 100,000 in off years.

The Colorado Springs Olympic & Paralympic Training Center (OTC) recently upgraded its visitor center to create a more engaging guest experience. The OTC experience and tour showcases where dreams begin for members of Team USA that have lived and trained at the Colorado Springs complex.

The $1.7 million renovation created an enhanced rotunda with five large video screens running highlights of past Olympians, information screens and rotating exhibits focusing on current and past athletes who trained at the OTC. The Team USA store expanded by nearly 50 percent and the new entrance to the center is now on the west side of the building next to the parking lot, making it more accessible.

The area also has a working studio, available to view by the public, where the USOC communications department runs its social media efforts and produce in-studio interviews. Their work will be shown in the rotunda along with live events on an NBC network. The center also hads a theater with a video on the history of the OTC.

The enhancements, as well as the addition of a food truck, are expected to double annual attendance. With the additional amenities, the cost of admission is $12 adults, $10 seniors and students, $8 for children, ages 5-12 with those 4 and younger getting in free. To reserve tickets or book a $79 VIP package that includes lunch in the athletes’ cafeteria, a more in-depth tour and a gift, go to or call 719-866-4618.

The Olympic & Paralympic Training Center is also an excellent venue for competitions. Two Olympic Sport Centers and the 45,000 sq. ft. aquatic center can host a variety of competitions. Nearby value-priced hotels and a variety of attractions, activities and parks make Colorado Springs the perfect destination for your next sporting event.

An exciting addition to the Colorado Springs landscape will be the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum, scheduled to break ground in 2016 and be completed in 2018. The new museum will be located in the southwestern quadrant of downtown Colorado Springs, near America the Beautiful Park. Plans are being developed for a shuttle to bring visitors between the museum and the Olympic Training Center to give guests a full-day sport experience in Olympic City USA.
