Baked at 14,000 feet, these one-of-a-kind donuts are made fresh daily at the Pikes Peak Summit House using a recipe engineered for high-altitude frying. Warm, dense and cake-like, they’re a rite of passage for anyone reaching the summit.
Pro Tip: Due to their unique recipe, formulated for high altitudes, these donuts can’t survive the trip down the mountain without their signature cakey texture collapsing. Of course, they’re so good that having leftovers won’t be a problem.

A roadside institution since 1977, The Donut Mill is known for its enormous pastries, including 12-inch cinnamon rolls and bear claws the size of your face. The old-school, family-friendly shop pairs its sweet treats with hearty breakfast burritos, biscuits and gravy and a welcoming mountain-town vibe.
Pro Tip: Don’t miss the hubcap-sized cinnamon roll. It’s perfect for sharing (or not) after a hike in the nearby Pike National Forest.
