Visit Colorado Springs Partners with Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation
Destination collaboration provides families with long-lasting memories
In loving memory of Josh Roundtree, January 10, 1985 - August 7, 2025
Colorado Springs, Colo. – August 14, 2025 – Visit Colorado Springs is honored to announce a collaboration with the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation as part of JAJF’s long-standing AIR ALLIANCE, which includes U.S. Travel, Destinations International and participating destinations across the country.
JAJF is dedicated to supporting families in which a parent is facing late-stage cancer. That support comes in the form of unforgettable, all-expenses paid vacations that give families a break from medical treatments and a chance to create lasting memories together.
“When a parent is diagnosed with late-stage cancer, the family’s world is immediately turned upside down,” said Jon Albert, founder of JAJF. “Imagine taking a fabulous family trip and getting a brief respite from treatments and appointments. Our motto is 'Treating the families, not the cancer.’ It’s all about giving families much-needed time together during a very difficult chapter.”
In June 2025, VCOS partnered with JAJF to host the Roundtree family for a four-day visit to the Pikes Peak Region. VCOS curated the family’s itinerary with generous support of local partners, including the Colorado Springs Airport, Southwest Airlines®, The Broadmoor, Cheyenne Mountain Zoo, The North Pole – Santa’s Workshop, Flying W Ranch and Nacho Matrix. The Broadmoor made the trip especially magical by providing a luxurious suite, in-room amenities and a private pool cabana.
The Roundtree family, which includes mom, dad and three daughters, were delighted by the accommodations and itinerary.
“Our trip was the getaway we didn’t know we needed,” said Mrs. Roundtree. “The hospitality was unmatched. My family felt the love and support. We were able to focus on fun and not on our daily challenges. It was a pure blessing we were offered this amazing experience the Roundtree Family will never forget,”
This marked the first time Visit Colorado Springs participated in the program, inspired by Scott White, President & CEO of Visit Greater Palm Springs, a long-time supporter of JAJF families.
“It was an honor to welcome the Roundtree family to Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region,” said Doug Price, President & CEO of Visit Colorado Springs. “We had a great experience working with them and with the Jack & Jill Late-Stage Cancer Foundation. We’re already committed to sponsoring another family next year and encourage destinations across Colorado and the U.S. to consider doing the same.”
