Visit Colorado Springs Commemorates New Mural
The mural was created by local artist Laura Tiller of Ink & Bone Design Co.
Colorado Springs, Colo. – February 26, 2026 – Yesterday, Visit Colorado Springs officially celebrated its new mural located at the Visitor Information Center on 515 S Cascade Ave in Downtown Colorado Springs. The mural showcases the region’s rich history and heritage through detailed elements across the artwork.
“This mural, named “A Trolley Through Time,” is a great depiction of how our destination’s past has influenced its present,” said Melissa Williams, Director of Marketing at Visit COS. “So much thought went into the process of commissioning this piece, and we’re so grateful for those in the community who supported the project.”
The organization collected submissions from local artists, which were reviewed by a selection committee comprised of individuals from Neon Pig Creative, the Bee Vradenburg Foundation, Downtown Partnership of Colorado Springs, the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region and Visit COS.
Ultimately, the committee selected the design of Ink & Bone Design Co., a local Colorado Springs creative agency owned by designer Laura Tiller. The collage-style mural blends together aspects of Colorado Springs’ past and present – from iconic landmarks like Garden of the Gods Park and Pikes Peak – America's Mountain to native flora and fauna of the region.
Most notably, the mural depicts the building’s long-time owner, Dr. Robert S. Hamilton, Jr., atop a mule. Dr. Hamilton was a lifelong outdoorsman and proud member of both the Roundup Riders of the Rockies and the Pikes Peak Range Riders. After purchasing the building in 2024, Visit COS named it the Hamilton Building in his honor. Dr. Hamilton’s widow, Joan Hamilton, was also in attendance at the celebration.
“This mural is the perfect way of capturing him – riding his mule through the beautiful mountains of Colorado and welcoming all of us to Colorado Springs,” said Ms. Hamilton.
Viewers can make the design come to life with a QR code on the bottom right of the mural, which animates each aspect of the display through the user’s phone. Additionally, more information about each element can be found at VisitCOS.com/blog/mural.
