Palmer Lake Historical Society is Honored to Present: “Trails to the Interstate: Transportation Systems Across the Palmer Divide"
Monument Creek, Plum Creek, and Cherry Creek waterways have evolved into major north-south transportation corridors. The Trappers, Smoky Hill and Cherokee trails were used by mountain men, military expeditions, gold seekers and homesteaders. The Denver Rio Grande and Denver New Orleans railroads provided transportation systems needed for Douglas and El Paso counties.
The Palmer Lake Historical Society is an educational 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization serving the Palmer Divide area since 1956. FREE Tri-Lakes Historical Calendars will be available. Help celebrate Colorado's 150 Anniversary.
