Event Summary
The Children centers on Hazel and Robin, a retired nuclear scientist couple attempting a quiet post-disaster existence in a remote coastal cottage following a meltdown at a nearby power station. The sudden appearance of Rose, a former colleague, disrupts their controlled routine. Her visit compels the couple to confront their professional past, personal legacy, and the moral calculus of responsibility toward the world they leave behind. The intense, three-person play offers a stark meditation on aging, duty, and environmental accountability.
Madalyn Rilling, SET Board Member and Director of the production, notes, "The Children" poses essential questions about our debt to the future and one another.
