CMEA All-stars
Jam session host: Bassist and composer Jason Crowe has performed or recorded with a variety of artists including Marvin Stamm, Ernie Watts, Randy Brecker, The New York Voices, Crystal Gayle, Vince Gill, Amy Grant, Faith Hill, Celine Dion, and more. He has performed at the Monterrey and Montreux Jazz Festivals, as well as Carnegie Hall and the Grand Ole Opry. While in the USAF Academy Band Jason recorded extensively including the Grammy recognized recording, Sharing the Freedom.
Ricky Sweum is a national award-winning American jazz saxophonist, recording artist, composer, educator, and music producer. He has recorded ten solo albums, appeared as a sideman on over 40 albums, and has performed with and led U.S. Air Force Bands for two decades. Ricky is a P. Mauriat Saxophone Performing Artist. Ricky has played around the globe in places as wide-ranging as Carnegie Hall in New York City, remote Arctic Circle villages in Alaska, ancient Kabuki theaters in Japan, Muslim boarding schools in Indonesia, and more. Ricky is an instructor at Colorado College.
Vibraphonist / Percussionist Joey Glassman has played with artists such as Ricky Sweum, Chip Stephens, Chip McNeill, Tito Carrillo, Larry Gray, Joel Spencer, Donnie Heitler, Kevin Matthews, Tom Amend, Alex Heffron, and Hunter Roberts. One of Joey’s favorite projects is his quartet dedicated to the music of Radiohead. As well, he has performed nationwide as a soloist with Louis Colaiannia. Joey has performed at prestigious venues including Red Rocks Amphitheater, Boettcher Concert Hall, Springfield Symphony Hall and others.
Drummer Tim Stombaugh is a current member of the Air Force Academy Falconaires Jazz Ensemble. Tim has performed professionally with Bunky Green, Bill Prince, Ernie Watts, Conrad Herwig, and Al Hood among others. He has been called to substitute for Butch Miles in the legendary Count Basie Orchestra in addition to tours with the Broadway musicals "The Full Monty" and "42nd Street." Tim has also traveled the country with Alligator Recording artists "Mofro."
