Event Summary
This body of work explores the elements of earth and water - their alchemic powers and natural connection. For the last three years, I have been closely studying these two courting elements in the natural world intensely. From waterfalls to lakes, rocky canyons to mountain vistas, these two elements have permeated my psyche. I became instantly enchanted with their natural healing and unifying abilities as well as their internal spiritual connection. These two elements are seemingly opposite on the elemental and astral spectrum, however, are very much working in tandem as alchemic partners of the natural and spiritual world. Earth creates the structure and stability water needs in order for these elements to create more life and abundance. Water provides the pathways in which earth receives alteration for much desired growth. Symbolically and spiritually, earth and water have an unwavering eternal bond. Earth aligns with water's intuitive and transformative powers and water aligns with earth's patient and stable nature. One can not live or exist without the other.
As an abstract painter, I’m guided by my intuition, quiet observations, and the five senses. This allows me to transform significant elements of nature, like earth and water, into works of art. Through these abstract paintings, I represent observations of actual resplendent locales in substantial and intimate designs. Each piece depicts close observations of the two elements, some individually and some combined in the same moment. The results are colorfully segmented art pieces with sharp lines that express my feelings and responses to these two gorgeous and celebrated elements as I have explored them in the natural world.
