Event Summary
In conjunction with “The Women of the Pikes Peak International Hill Climb” exhibit at the Manitou Springs Heritage Museum, race historians Lisa Sanborn Haight and Don Sanborn will discuss the many women who have undertaken the world-famous race.
The cousins are active members of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Historical Association (aka the Over the Hill Gang); Sanborn is the current president and Haight is the secretary. They’re also members of the Pikes Peak Hill Climb Museum committee.
Sanborn and his father, Frank Sanborn, were famed high climb racers, as was Haight’s father, Nick Sanborn. They have witnessed history and will share inside stories the public has never heard at this free presentation.
