Event Summary
Jazz and Swing with Valerie and Simon.
Valerie Rose embraced the San Francisco avant-garde art and music movement. Travelling for 4 years with The Melodious Monks, Valerie played hundreds of shows from Key West to the northwest, and then spent 10 years playing ‘8 days a week’ at festivals and other venues. Valerie plays jazz, swing, folk, blues and Grateful Dead fusion throughout the Front Range. A member of the Tidal Breeze Hot Club, and engaged in her own projects, Valerie plays venues throughout Southern Colorado. An avid bass player and vocalist, she also brings a unique element and crowd favorite when playing her bass ukelele.
Simon Sapphire originally from Cornwall in the UK, has a masters in music and a diverse musical background. Simon is a multi-talented professional organist, pianist, conductor and broadcaster. He is at home in a variety of settings, from organ concerts to collaborative piano and jazz.
