Mother's Day Celebration at the 2nd Sunday Jazz Affair

For the past decade, Boyd Sweeney and The Moldy Figs have been dedicated to keeping swing music alive in Colorado Springs. With a deep respect for jazz tradition and a passion for vibrant performances, the band delivers an authentic swing experience that resonates with both dancers and listeners.

Led by clarinetist Boyd Sweeney, the group is known for its high-energy shows and commitment to the timeless sounds of the swing era. Boyd's original big band compositions have been featured at countless events, including TEDx Colorado Springs. The band has been featured at iconic venues throughout Colorado such as the Mercury Cafe, The ENT Center, and Phil Long Music Hall. Boyd has had the privilege of sharing the stage with Grammy Award-winning artists such as Haley Reinhart (American Idol, Postmodern Jukebox) and Kim Stone (Spyro Gyra).

The Moldy Figs is comprised of some of the region’s most talented jazz musicians, each bringing their own expertise to shape a distinctive and dynamic sound. With a tight rhythm section, and expressive soloists, The Moldy Figs blend authenticity with fresh energy, breathing new life into classic swing.
