The public is invited to join Evergreen Heritage in honoring and remembering the sacrifices of our country’s military heroes who served, beginning with the Civil War up to the present.
Founded in 1871, Evergreen Cemetery is the final resting place for veterans of every major American conflict. This Memorial Day, walk through history and connect with the past as military historians representing the Civil War, World War I, and World War II share stories and insights about those who served.
A special program will be presented by the 10th U.S. Cavalry Buffalo Soldiers at the Spanish-American War section, honoring the legacy of this distinguished regiment.
Visitors will also have the rare opportunity to tour the historic Evergreen Chapel, learn about critical preservation efforts, and discover how they can help Evergreen Heritage protect and restore the rich history of both Evergreen and Fairview Cemeteries.
