Event Summary
The summer solstice marks the peak of light—the sun’s fullest expression—and an invitation for us to pause, reflect, and realign. Join us for a powerful two-hour sound bath concert at the historic Ivywild School to honor this sacred seasonal shift.
Bathed in the rich tones of crystal singing bowls, gongs, flutes, and classical guitar, you’ll be guided into a deep state of restoration and presence. Featuring the talents of Dr. Gigi Turner, Dave Patrick, and Steve Manzo, this evening blends harmony and heart in celebration of nature’s brightest day.
Whether you come to release, recharge, or simply soak in the moment, this solstice journey will leave you feeling grounded and renewed.
Meet the Musicians
Dr. Gigi Turner, PsyD, founder and owner of Singing Bowls of the Rockies, has created Colorado Springs' premier sound bath sanctuary. Formerly a psychology professor and psychotherapist, she combines her deep understanding of the mind with the healing power of sound. With over a decade of experience and an extensive collection of more than 100 singing bowls, Gigi has guided thousands of participants through immersive and restorative sound journeys. Her expertise lies in crafting deeply soothing experiences that calm the nervous system, promote profound relaxation, and inspire inner healing.
Dave Patrick, a lifelong musician and classical guitarist, brings a rich melodic element to the sound bath experience. With decades of musical expertise, Dave’s playing creates a soothing atmosphere that enhances the resonance of the bowls and instruments, weaving harmonic textures that invite a sense of deep peace and reflection.
Steve Manzo is a multi-instrumentalist with a passion for sound and its healing potential. Influenced by his own experiences with sound baths, Steve brings a unique musical perspective to each session, offering layers of meditative frequencies. Currently studying film and game scoring, his expertise in composition and music production allows him to craft immersive auditory landscapes. When he’s not accompanying Singing Bowls of the Rockies, Steve connects with the local music scene, works on personal projects, and finds inspiration in the sounds of nature.
WHAT IS A SOUND BATH?
A sound bath is a meditative experience where people are "bathed" in sound waves produced by various overtone-emitting instruments, including singing bowls, gongs, chimes, and more. During a sound bath, people lie down and listen to resonant sounds, allowing their brain waves to slow and shift from a more active state to a more relaxed or dreamlike state. The goal of the experience is to invite deep rest and relaxation, explore self-inquiry and self-discovery, and help people let go of stress, anxiety, or other worries. A sound bath is typically a way of managing anxiety, soothing the nervous system, and blocking all the ideas and thoughts out of your consciousness as you connect with your body.
Our sound baths may include the following instruments: over 70 Crystal Singing Bowls & Tibetan Singing Bowls (including 5 sets of Chakra Tuned Singing Bowls), Crystal Quartzophone Harp, Zaphir Chimes, Bar Chimes, Flutes, Rain Stick, Buffalo Drum, Ocean Drum, Steel Tongue Drum, Handpans, Kalimba, Tingshas and other traditional instruments from around the world.
