Gail Beaton - Author Visit and Book Talk

Pikes Peak Library District welcomes Colorado author and historian Gail Beaton for an engaging presentation on her new book, Colorado Women Homesteaders.

This program is being offered to commemorate the Colorado 150 and US 250 anniversaries, as a part of the All Pikes Peak Reads (APPR) program.

Nearly 13,000 women homesteaded in Colorado, staking claims, building businesses, raising families, and helping shape the Centennial State. Through diary entries, letters, photographs, and meticulous research, acclaimed Colorado historian and author Gail M. Beaton brings their remarkable stories of life, resilience, and independence to life.

As we celebrate the 150th anniversary of Colorado statehood, join us for a look at the history of the women who homesteaded our state.
