Event Summary
ChoralSong’s 2025 / 2026 season will open with a captivating collection of songs from the pews and back porches of 19th century America.
In addition to world premieres of three new arrangements of songs by “The Father of American Music,” Stephen Foster, we are proud to collaborate with Summit 53 Arts and Dana’s Dance to present the Colorado premiere of Land of Rest: A Choral Dance Cycle on American Folk Hymns. This highly unusual work by St. Louis composer Steven Mager is based on a series of “folk hymns” from the 1800s which are brought to life with the combined artistry of vocalists and ballet dancers.
The concert will then close with a chronological progression of African American Spirituals featuring the mesmerizing voice of famed Baritone, Jamal Sarikoki.
