First Friday ArtWalk at 45º
March 6, 2026 5:00 PM –8:00 PM
Event Summary
The World Through My Eyes is a youth exhibition featuring artwork by middle school artists ages 11 - 15 from across the Pikes Peak region. The works highlight how these young creatives interpret the world around them—real or imagined—through thoughtful, expressive, and often deeply personal perspectives. Created in partnership with Surface Gallery, Meraki Springs and 45º. The selected works will be on display at each gallery all month long.
Also on view is a vibrant collection of functional pottery by Betsey Niebuhr, whose work is rooted in decades of practice and a lifelong engagement with clay. This body of work is inspired by the colors found in the skies at sunrise and sunset, and the shifting palettes of outdoor adventures. Working spontaneously, Betsey begins with underglazes chosen from a favorite photograph or memory, allowing intuition and experience to guide each piece before sealing the surface with a clear satin glaze. Influenced by Japanese pottery traditions and expressive brushwork, her ceramics balance simplicity and function with layered surface, texture, and luminous color. Her work reflects a deep appreciation for process, history, and the quiet beauty of everyday handmade objects.
Together, these exhibitions offer a meaningful look at creative expression across generations—celebrating both emerging voices and the enduring practice of an established Colorado artist.
