Event Summary
Thursday night's concert opens with Poulenc's Trio for horn, trumpet and trombone, featuring Michael Thornton on horn, Jean Laurenz on trumpet, and John Rojak on trombone, followed by Villa-Lobos's Bachianas Brasileiras No. 6, performed by Alice Dade on flute and Michael Kroth on bassoon.
The program continues with Ibert's Cinq Pièces en trio, performed by Laura Griffiths on oboe, Alan Kay on clarinet, and Michael Kroth on bassoon, then Piazzolla's Kicho, with Susan Cahill on bass and John Novacek on piano. The evening closes with Schoenberg's Verklärte Nacht (Transfigured Night), Op. 4, featuring Ayano Ninomiya, violin; Laura Frautschi, violin; Toby Appel, viola; Phillip Ying, viola; Bion Tsang, cello; David Ying, cello.
