Event Summary
Opening the festival is Grant Sabin. As a solo artist he's been captivating Colorado Springs audiences for years with his raw voice and dynamic stage presence and has built a strong fan base. Sabin's unique musical style is characterized by his biting slide guitar, soulful growl, and heartfelt lyrics.
Next up is Denver’s Jack Hadley Band. Jack played in a number of bands but in 2005, Jack decided to focus on his trio, The Jack Hadley Band. Joining the band for this event is soulful singer Peaches Embrey who was at the inaugural Blues on the Mesa as part of Ladies Sing the Blues. She also fronts her own band, Peaches Embrey and the Rhythm Train.
The first national recording artist to perform is Eden Brent, a renowned songwriter performer and recording artist and has received numerous awards and nominations. She is currently nominated in four categories of the 2025 Blues Music Awards; Song of the Year, Traditional Blues Album, Traditional Blues - Blues Female Artist and instrumentalist - Piano.
Mike Zito started his career in the St Louis area music scene until signing with Electro Groove Records 2008. In 2009, Eclecto Groove released Pearl River. Zito and Cyril Neville collaborated on the title track which won "Song of the Year" at the2010 Blues Music Awards, Zito, Cyril Neville, and Devon Allman became Royal Southern Brotherhood. Mike Zito left Royal Southern Brotherhood do devote time to his own band. Then came Covid 19 and Mike took advantage of the down time to start his own record label, Gulf Coast Records. Resurrection was the label’s first release and was a critic and fan favorite and later won the Blues Music Award for the 2022 Blues Rock Album of the year. Zito joined forces with Gulf Coast Records label mate Albert Castiglia and created the Blood Brothers Tour. Collaborating with the Blood Brothers Tour is comedian Bill Murray, showcasing his unique brand of music and comedy.
Headlining the festival is Ruthie Foster She has been nominated for multiple Grammy Awards and won her first Grammy on February 2, 2025. Foster's awards list includes three Grammy nominations, her numerous wins at the Blues Music Awards, including three awards for Best Female Vocalist In 2016, she was nominated for two Living Blues Awards and won the Koko Taylor Award for Best Traditional Female Blues Artist. Her list of honors also includes a nomination from the Living Blues Awards for Best Live Performer.
