Balanced Rook Chess Club ♖

We are a social chess club with players of all skill levels, from beginners just learning chess to highly rated tournament players that are happy to give pointers to those who are less experienced (strategy / tactics / openings / endgames / books to study / etc).

All ages are welcome as Wackadoo is a family friendly establishment and serves more than just beer. We ask that parents stay with your children, and you can buy a soda/beer and/or a burger while they play.

Never been to a chess club and not sure what to expect? It’s free, come down between 6-9pm, say hello to me (Lloyd) and I’ll get you started. You can watch a game in progress (no kibitzing), or sit down at one of the club provided tournament grade chess sets and invite anyone who is free to play. After your game you can rematch, invite someone else to play, or take a break and buy a beer to watch others play, talk chess, or help analyze a finished game.
