'Andromeda'

Local performing arts company Urban Cirque is bringing a full-scale cosmic production to the Pikes Peak Center. Andromeda, an original theatrical cirque show, premieres Saturday, June 28 at 7:30 p.m., showcasing a cast of local aerialists, dancers, and circus performers in a story that spans galaxies.

Two astronauts are launched into outer space, tasked with a crucial mission: to find the newly discovered lyralite crystal, which has life-saving capabilities, and return to Earth. When their spaceship crashes in a terrifying explosion, the explorers are separated and must bravely venture on alone. Each travels through the vast expanse of the cosmos, encountering celestial beings, dangerous forces, humorous friends, and extraterrestrial royalty in an epic journey that is not one to miss.

From flying trapeze to awe-inspiring silks performances, Andromeda blends aerial acrobatics, original narration, and stunning visuals to explore the importance of connection, sacrifice, and what it means to find the way home.

“Everything in this show—from the custom set pieces to the choreography—has been built right here in Colorado Springs,” says Andromeda creator and director Katrina Diaz. “This is more than a performance—it’s proof of what local artists are capable of when they’re given a stage.”

Urban Cirque has steadily built a name in the regional circus arts scene since opening in 2022, and Andromeda marks its most ambitious production to date.
