An In-Progress Showing of 'Brokeback Mountain, The Ballet'

World-class dancers bring Proulx’s iconic short story to life with expressive dance and music capturing the emotional restraint, rugged beauty, and tragic romance that have made the story a cornerstone of literature and film. Set in the American West before same-sex marriage was legal, the ballet tells the story of two working-class men caught between desire and fear, sharing the unspoken depths of longing, conflict, and intimacy. Finishing a three-week Works & Process residency at Green Box Arts, join the cast and creative team for an in-progress showing in advance of their 2027 premiere at the Guggenheim’s Peter B. Lewis Theater.
