Event Summary
Temple Shalom Chamber Music Series: A Concert of Remembrance-Yom Ha'Shoah 2026
Yom Ha’Shoah, or Holocaust Remembrance Day, is a solemn day commemorating the six million Jews murdered by Nazis during the Holocaust. This year we celebrate our commitment to remember their sacrifices with a concert featuring works by Ofer Ben-Amots, Maurice Ravel, and Alexander Zemlinksy. Mordechai Gebirtigold, James Simon, Leo Smit, and Ilse Weber Wiegala were prisoners in concentration camps. While many perished, their music lives on as a living legacy to this time in history.
The concert will feature musicians: Pam Chaddon, Cello; Amalia Dobbins, Mezzo Soprano; Karen Shapiro, Flute; Rick Shapiro, Clarinet; and Moses Swedberg, Piano.
The program is sponsored in part by the Ruth Adler Schnee Music Fund.
