John Register
Hall of Fame & Top 50 International Speaker | Colorado Springs’ First-Choice Keynote on Leadership, Resilience, and Change
“This is not a comeback story. This is a leadership blueprint.”
Event planners hosting in Colorado Springs seek a speaker who can captivate audiences and represent the destination with credibility. John Register does both. Trusted on international stages, booked nationwide, and deeply rooted in Colorado Springs, John delivers an unforgettable anchor moment for any event.
An Olympic hopeful and U.S. Army combat veteran, John lost his leg in a training accident—along with his Olympic dreams and military career. What followed was not retreat, but reinvention. He returned to elite sport as a Paralympic athlete, earning a silver medal in long jump at the Paralympic Games.
“I did not overcome my amputation. I adapted, innovated, and transformed.”
John’s leadership extends far beyond the stage. He founded the U.S. Paralympic Military Sports Program—created in Colorado Springs—which became the foundation for the Warrior Games and influenced the Invictus Games. Through the U.S. Department of State Sports Envoy Program, he represented the United States globally, advancing leadership through sport and diplomacy.
Later, as CEO of the Amputee Coalition, John safeguarded a critical federal grant supporting 5.6 million Americans, and he currently serves as Vice Chair of the National Speakers Association.
Recognized locally with the Colorado Springs Inspirational Leader Award, John is part of the city’s leadership fabric. His Paralympic prosthetic leg is on permanent display at the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum—a living symbol of resilience and reinvention.
Audiences leave with practical tools, including John’s Re³ Resilience Action Model, shared language for navigating disruption, and renewed ownership of leadership decisions.
International perspective. National credibility. Local leadership.
John Register isn’t just a speaker—he is the defining moment of your event.
