Overview
Dear Production Manager / Producer,
I’m a Colorado Springs–based Location Scout with 15+ years in film/TV/events and a deep working knowledge of the Pikes Peak region’s geography, neighborhoods, access routes, and logistics. Since 2006 I’ve supported reality TV, commercials, docs, conferences, and sports—previously as PA, AV Tech, Camera Utility, and Camera Operator—so I scout with the crew’s on-set needs in mind.
What I bring
Smart, story-first scouting: visually distinctive options that match tone, time period, and blocking needs; alternates on standby.
Practical logistics: parking/basecamp planning, load-in paths, holding, power/sound considerations, restroom and staging options.
Clear deliverables: photo decks with angles and lens notes, sun path/time-of-day guidance, maps and approach routes, contact sheets, and rate/availability summaries.
Permitting & neighbors: timelines, city/county contacts, notification plans, and COI requirements; attention to fire restrictions and weather contingencies.
Set-friendly perspective: I anticipate DP/director needs because I’ve been behind the lens—fewer surprises, faster setups.
Local fluency
Garden of the Gods vistas, historic Old Colorado City, downtown alleys and rooftops, Broadmoor/cheyenne area looks, Manitou Springs textures, rural/ranch options along Highway 24, mountain passes toward Woodland Park, and urban-modern spaces near the UCCS corridor—plus workable backups when weather shifts.
I’m organized, responsive, and calm under pressure. I’d love to discuss your brief and turn around an initial scout deck and permit outline.
Thank you for your consideration,
Sincerely,
/s/David L. Ulery
