Dear Director of Photography / Camera Department Hiring Team,
I am writing to submit my resume for Assistant Camera and Camera Utility opportunities. I am based in Colorado and bring extensive hands-on experience in sports broadcast, television, live events, commercials, documentary work, comedy specials, and production environments where reliability, attention to detail, and strong camera department support are essential.
Much of my camera department background has been as a Camera Utility in professional sports broadcast, including work with CBS Sports, FOX Sports, ESPN, NFL Network, MLB Network, NBAE World Feed, Altitude TV, Apple TV, FS1, and other major live production teams. That experience has given me a strong practical understanding of signal flow, cable management, fiber handling, lens care, camera builds, battery swaps, operator support, and the fast pace required around live cameras, handhelds, hard cameras, long lenses, and broadcast trucks.
While my strongest background is in sports camera utility, I believe that experience translates very well to Assistant Camera work. Camera Utility requires many of the same core traits that make a strong AC: preparation, organization, technical awareness, careful gear handling, clear communication, and the ability to anticipate the needs of the DP and camera operators. Whether running cable, cleaning fiber, supporting handheld operators, helping with lens or accessory changes, setting up monitors, managing media, labeling cards, or assisting with Teradeks and SDI runs, I understand the importance of protecting the camera workflow and keeping the department efficient.
My AC experience includes Helen Believe for Religion of Sports, Chris Porter: A Man from Kansas for Comedy Dynamics, a Sting Boxing commercial, and a Tri-County Health Department training project. These projects have allowed me to support camera teams in film, commercial, documentary, and live-performance settings while continuing to build my set-based camera department experience.
I also stay familiar with modern camera systems and workflows used across film, television, commercial, documentary, and live production, including ARRI, Sony, RED, Canon, Blackmagic, and Sony HDC-series broadcast systems. I understand that every production has its own camera package, and I am comfortable learning the workflow, supporting the operator and DP, and helping keep gear organized, protected, and ready.
In addition to my camera background, I bring years of production experience as a PA/Utility, Camera Operator, AV Technician, and live-event crew member. As a U.S. Air Force veteran, I bring discipline, professionalism, punctuality, and a strong work ethic to every job.
I am proud to be a member of IBEW Local 45 out of North Hollywood, and I am available for both union and non-union productions.
