Know Before You Go: Dining Tips for Colorado Springs

  • Don't judge a restaurant by its address. Some of the best meals in Colorado Springs happen in spots you'd never stumble across by accident — tucked into neighborhood corners, quiet side streets and the occasional unassuming shopping center. Use our filters to search by cuisine and neighborhood, and let the food do the talking.
  • The altitude is real. So is the dehydration. At 6,035 feet, you'll feel that second cocktail faster than you expect. Drink some water. Your server has heard it before and won't judge you.
  • Go beyond your comfort zone: the international scene is legit. From Nepalese and Ethiopian to German and Brazilian, Colorado Springs has a genuinely diverse dining landscape. Browse our International Dining page and try something new.
  • Breakfast and brunch punch above their weight here. Colorado Springs has a quietly excellent morning food scene. Build at least one breakfast or brunch into your trip. The weekend lines at the best spots will tell you everything you need to know.
  • Patio season is long. With 300+ days of sunshine a year, al fresco dining is basically the default from spring through fall. If the weather looks good, ask for the patio.
  • Don't skip dessert. From artisan chocolate to local bakeries to ice cream worth crossing town for, dessert here deserves its own plan. Check our Sweet Treats page before you assume you'll just grab something on the way out.
  • Make a reservation (even for places that take walk-ins). The best spots fill up fast, especially on weekends and during summer. A quick check on OpenTable or Resy before you head out can save you from a 45-minute wait.
  • Talk to a local. People here are genuinely proud of what's coming out of their kitchens. Ask your barista where they eat after their shift, or stop by our Visitor Information Center at 515 S Cascade Ave. Our team eats here too, and they'll give you a bespoke answer.
