Arts Month
October is Arts Month in Colorado Springs. This year, let Arts Month open your world with the arts with new experiences and exciting performances.
Led by the Cultural Office of the Pikes Peak Region, our local Arts Month collaborates with individual artists, arts organizations and community partners from across our region. Arts Month Events
Although our local Arts Month celebration is embraced with equal energy and excitement during all thirty-one days of October, for planning and promotional purposes, the month is divided into four discipline-specific Theme Weeks: Regardless of what Theme Week it is, we invite you to “Open Your World With Art” this October and experience the richness of our local arts community.
Explore the full calendar of events happening throughout the month.

Week 1: Visual & Culinary Arts
September 28 - October 4
To kick off Arts Month, Visual and Culinary artists around the Pikes Peak Region show off their art galleries, culinary classes and crafting. Feast your eyes, then your plate. Wander galleries and murals, then taste chef specials, pop-up tastings and artful cocktails all week. Pro tip: start with a stroll through downtown’s public art. Check out the ongoing First Friday Art Walks in downtown COS and Old Colorado City, cooking classes with The French Kitchen, a brewhouse tour at Goat Patch Brewery, arts classes at the Colorado College Fine Arts Center and much more.

Week 2: Theater & Film
October 5 - October 11
The second week of Arts Month takes the stage with artists showcasing their film and live theater productions. From black box to big screen, the spotlight’s on. Catch new plays, indie screenings and lively talkbacks across town, then keep the story going with a nightcap downtown. See a play at Springs Ensemble Theatre and the Ent Center for the Arts, attend a magic show or view local artists' short films.

Week 3: Poetry, Prose & Comedy
October 11 - October 18
This week, words take the mic. Hear poets, storytellers and comics turn everyday moments into big laughs and goosebumps. Grab a seat, sip something warm, leave with a favorite line. Listen in or participate in an open mic event by Poetry 719 or attend a comedy show.

Week 4: Music & Dance
October 19 - October 25
Move to the beat of the city. From symphonies and choirs to hip-hop crews and social dances, find your rhythm and close out Arts Month on a high note. You'll also find spooky themes throughout some events to commemorate the Fall season and Halloween. Find shows at some of our favorite places like:
