St. Mary's Falls Trail is one of the more popular trails near the North Cheyenne Canon Park. The trail starts out on Upper Gold Camp Road, proceeds over the closed railroad tunnel and follows a creek until you reach the beautiful falls. If you like a trail with a flowing creek alongside, this is your trail.
Travel about 0.35 mi. from I-25 (S. Nevada Street exit) and turn right (west) onto W. Cheyenne Blvd. Proceed 2.75 mi. to the intersection of N. Cheyenne Canon Road & S. Cheyenne Canon Road. Turn right at this intersection onto N. Cheyenne Canon Road (past the iron gate) and travel up the winding road for 3.0 miles to the end of the road. There will be an intersection with High Drive (straight ahead), Lower Gold Camp Road (to the right) and the gravel parking lot (to the left). Park in the gravel parking area to the left. The trailhead is at the back or west side of this parking area. The trail begins at the iron gate that closes Upper Gold Camp Road to motorized vehicles.
North Cheyenne Canyon Road will be closed from September 20, 2021, through May 2022. The park will still be accessible via Gold Camp Road. More information on the project here.
