Visit Colorado Springs Wins Governor’s Award for Creative Marketing Campaign
“Pikes Peak Neighborhoods Project” recognized under large budget category
Colorado Springs, Colo. – September 30, 2026 – Last week at the Colorado Governor’s Tourism Conference in Breckenridge, Colorado, Visit Colorado Springs was recognized with a Governor’s Award for Outstanding Colorado Tourism Efforts.
The organization received The Governor’s Award for Creative Marketing Campaign (Large Budget Category $60,000 or More) for its creation and execution of the “Pikes Peak Neighborhoods Project.” Visit COS was awarded a 2025 Tourism Marketing Grant from the Colorado Tourism Office for the campaign, which led to its success.
“We are honored to be recognized for our work on the Pikes Peak Neighborhoods Project,” said Alexea Veneracion, Director of Communications at Visit COS. “This campaign was truly a labor of love for our community and encourages visitors to explore it in its entirety. We are grateful to the Colorado Tourism Office for the grant funds that made this impactful project come to life.”
The campaign was incredibly robust and included community research and focus groups, design of a new interactive map, 25 new webpages on VisitCOS.com and corresponding social media videos for each neighborhood.
The dedicated hub on VisitCOS.com launched in July of 2025. The social media videos that followed helped drive users to the site and generated over 1M social media engagements, all while strengthening community identity and distributing visitors to pockets across the region.
