Melissa Williams of Visit Colorado Springs Named One of 40 Community Leaders

Williams joins inaugural Southern Colorado’s 40 Under 40 list

Colorado Springs, Colo. – Thursday, February 6 – Visit Colorado Springs is excited to announce that Director of Marketing Melissa Williams will be recognized in the Southern Colorado Business Forum & Digest’s first-ever 40 Under 40 celebration on February 25.

The Business Digest created this exclusive showcase to highlight 40 outstanding young professionals under the age of 40 who are impacting their industries, driving innovation and shaping the future of our community. Winners were selected by an independent review committee using a vigorous rubric that focused on facets like impact, innovation, leadership, integrity and more.

“We are very proud of the work Melissa has done over her 10 years with Visit Colorado Springs,” said Doug Price, President & CEO of VCOS. “She stays on the cutting-edge of industry trends and is a key player in driving economic impact through tourism in the Pikes Peak Region.”

Williams, who joined the VCOS executive leadership team in 2024, was nominated by her colleagues for attributes like her strong work ethic, presence in the community and passion for what she does to bolster the local tourism industry.

“There are many reasons I nominated Melissa for this recognition, but none was more prominent than the impact she has had on our organization’s marketing and advertising success,” said Alexea Veneracion, Director of Communications at VCOS. “In the last year alone, she has developed an AI usage policy for the company, spearheaded a resident sentiment survey and brought on new data attribution and AI solutions for VCOS.”

The full list of winners of the 2025 inaugural event include: Alex Ewers, Andrea Herrera, Antonio Huerta, Ashley DiPaola, Brittany Stroh, Chloe Hoeft, Christie Frieg, Dani Cathcart, Daniel Loa, Davis Tutt, Elizabeth Sovis, Emily Ortmeier, Geoff Carrigan, Harrison Hunter, Jackie Lujan, Joseph Cheung, Kandy Ruiz, Latisha Quintana, Luke Doster, Dr. Manya Whitaker, Melissa Williams, Michael Garner, Michael Stuzynski, Mike McLain, Morgan Hornung, Pryia Ford, Rafael De La Vega, Ryan Darilek, Sami Mooney, Samuel Gardner, Sandra Lopez, Sara Petrie, Seth Porter, Seth Pruett, Stephanie Russell, Sydney Jackson, Tara Seegers, Tim Menditto, Travis Bockenstedt and Trevor Daggers.
