Celebrate 2025 National Travel & Tourism Week with Visit Colorado Springs
From May 4-10, locals and visitors can get inspired by tourism & support small businesses
Thursday, May 1, 2025 – Colorado Springs, Colo. – Starting Sunday, May 4, Visit Colorado Springs is joining the U.S. Travel Association in celebrating National Travel and Tourism Week (NTTW).
This year, since the event also falls on the same week as Small Business Week, VCOS is collaborating with the City of Colorado Springs to share positive messaging about how both visitors and locals can support small businesses in the Pikes Peak Region.
“We welcome about 25 million visitors to the Pikes Peak Region each year,” said Doug Price, President & CEO of VCOS. “Those visitors spend nearly $3B annually, which includes dining out at our local restaurants, buying locally made art and goods and enjoying family owned and operated attractions.”
Travel and tourism bring around $8M per day into the local economy, which has a huge impact on local businesses. VisitCOS.com includes resources for both visitors and locals to help them map out off-the-beaten-path itineraries and discover more businesses they might not have known about.
“As much as we want our visitors to explore like locals, it’s equally important to us to inspire our locals to get out and explore their own backyard like tourists,” said Alexea Veneracion, Director of Communications at VCOS. “At times, locals can get used to their routines and miss out on new businesses or attractions that have opened.”
To give locals more insight into tourism in the region, VCOS launched a Locals Corner on VisitCOS.com. It includes some locals’ perspectives on tourism and its impact on the community, as well as a new “locals only” discounts section for Colorado residents. VCOS hopes these special deals will inspire residents to get out and explore the destination and reinvigorate their love for Colorado Springs and the Pikes Peak Region.
